Has It Been 10 Years Already?

Last night was our 10 year class reunion. While that might not sound like a long time for some, it totally has me wiggin out (by saying wiggin' out . . . that may have dated me right there). We had such a great time. Yesterday afternoon we had our own little reunion with some friends that were in town. We had a little food and played some water baseball. It was so much fun. You want to see something funny see Seth Wolfert run the bases and then slide into home. Good clean fun. Then that night there was a dinner and program at UVSC ( I don't have to call it UVU until tomorrow July 1). We went with Seth and Alisha, and Chris and Brook. We had so much fun. It was fun to see old friends that we hadn't seen since graduation day. No one seemed to surprised that Ryan and I had gotten married. So, I guess it was pretty expected while we were in high school. It was fun to see how everyone looked, and what people were up to and how many kids they had. It was fun to reminisce about Mr. Fong's psychology class, and the Geology field trip. We talked about Prom and who was dating who. Good times. I wish that I had a chance to talk to more people. After we left the reunion we went to Seth's parents house and played Wii. Ryan, Seth and Chris are very intense people when they are playing Wii. We had a great time. Last night I felt like I was in high school again, it was so fun, but I am so glad I am done with that part of my life.

Here are some pictures from the good old days.

Don't Go Breakin' My Heart

Here is Ryan and I rockin' out.

Here is Theron playing the "air sax"

Here is Katie holding Miley so that we could rock out.

Monday night was our brother-in-law, Theron's birthday. Theron loves karaoke so for his birthday my sister rented a karaoke machine. Ryan hates everyone watching him, so I wasn't expecting him to sing, however something snapped and he let his inner karaoke out. We decided to put Elton John to the test and sing Don't Go Breakin' My Heart. Elton John has nothing to worry about his talent is safe. We really stunk, but it was a lot of fun. Thanks for a great night Katie & Theron.

It's Finally Summer

Utah's weather is so crazy. It really hasn't felt like summer until this last week. We have had so much fun. I love that Ryan gets home from work at 3:00. We have all afternoon to enjoy the summer. Last week we went boating. We took the boat out for it's maiden voyage this summer. We had such a great time. We left Miley with Grandma McCarty, we thought she was little too small. Grandpa Ken let Jackson drive the boat forever, which he thought was the coolest thing ever. Ryan and I just sat back and relaxed. It was a beautiful day. I love living so close to Utah Lake. We also went swimming at the Scera Park pool last week. It took us about 2 hours to get there and all our gear together. The days of picking up and going are over. We got Miley a swimming suit and a little floaty thing that she can sit in. She loved the pool. She just kicked and smiled. The water was really warm, which made it so much easier. Jackson never was gung ho about swimming when he was that age. So it was fun to have her embrace it. Ryan got Jackson a little boogie board (which he believes to be a surfboard) and we "surfed" all over the place. He thought he was pretty hot stuff. We may need to go and visit the Draeger family in So Cal so they can show Jackson what a real surfer does. We also introduced Miley to the world of popsicles which she totally digs. She couldn't get enough of it. Of course we had to strip her down to a diaper, because of the potential mess, but she had such a great time. I love this summer. Last summer, I was so sick with my pregnancy that I couldn't even leave my house. So I feel like I am catching up on old times. Here are a few pictures from our great week.

My Kids Are Growing Up!!

Every once and a while I have a reality check that my kids are getting older, but for most of the time I am in deep denial. We never really think Miley is old enough for the next step in develop and so when she does something we are always so shocked. This is certainly the same with Jackson. We try to teach him something new and he catches on so good, we always look at each other in disbelief. This week Miley sat up by herself. She is so cute, when she catches herself and balances. It feels like just yesterday that she was born. She is now 6 months old. We got all of Jackson's old baby toys out of storage, which of course he now wants to play with, and she just loves to play with them and figure them out. She is so smiley and a really pleasant baby. Did I mention she sleeps through the night, we are still waiting for Jackson to accomplish this task. Jackson makes me laugh every day. He is so funny. He is really into Transformers. He loves this movie thanks to Aunt Kim. He has BumbleBee, and Ratchet (potty training reinforcements). However his true love is still Herbie. For those who aren't aware of who Herbie is, you missed out on some good ol'Disney cinema growing up. He saw the latest Herbie with Lindsay Lohan before Christmas and became obsessed with it, since then he now loves all of them. We also own all of them ( another potty training reinforcement . . . we are so desperate). So, on Monday we went to Bountiful for my Grandma Ator's birthday party and across the street Jackson sees Herbie, well of course he wanted to go see it and buy it. We had a little photo session with Herbie. He is getting so big, on Sunday I was talking to him about Sunbeams and we started to sing "I am a Child God" the entire thing. It was the sweetest thing. He loves Miley and plays with her all the time. He is the only one in the family who can make her laugh when she is upset. Next thing I know he'll be going off on a mission and Miley will be dating.

Idaho Falls Trip

We had to make a quick trip to Idaho Falls this weekend. My grandma died. Grandma Dickson is my mom's mom. She suffered with Muscular Dystrophy for over 25 years. Her quality of life was becoming really bad. So, we were kind of expecting this to happen sooner than later. She never met Miley which made me really sad, but luckily we know about the Plan of Salvation. I had the "privilege" of speaking at the funeral about memories that the grandkids have of grandma. The coolest thing that happened at the funeral was the police escort. My uncle is a police officer with the county up in Idaho and he had his buddies do a police escort for grandma and the funeral procession. We all felt like celebrities, while we were driving by and other cars had to pull off to the side of the road. Grandma would have thought that was the coolest thing ever. These are just a few of the pictures at the cemetery.
Here is Ryan looking very dapper as a pall bearer. Jackson was an honorary pallbearer, which is really sweet.
Here are some of the grandkids relaxing at the cemetery.
This is my grandpa (the one on the right) talking to his brother in law.

Miley was the belle of the ball, everyone loved her and she was so good.

The boys enjoyed playing Playstation . . . all weekend long.
We were ab;e to spend some time at the Idaho Falls temple.

Grandma and Jackson having some quality time. Aren't the flowers gorgeous.
If you look close you can see Miley and Ryan.

We also had a chance to go to Yellowstone on Monday. We had a great time. We saw tons of buffalo. Ryan and my cousins decided to get out and follow the buffalo, then the buffalo decided to follow us, which turned into a close encounter for both of us. Jackson just loved it. It was so beautiful up there, and there was still snow. We also trekked up to Old Faithful and watched the eruption. We had to wait around 20 minutes in the rain and hail. It was freezing, and of course Jackson and I were the only ones wearing appropriate clothing. It was a long ride home, and we will probably camp next time we do this, but we had a great trip to Yellowstone. It was sad that it took my grandma dying to get us all up there. Grandma would have loved to see us all up there having fun. She will be missed.
