Easter Pictures

My sister and I thought it would be nice if we took some pictures of the kids to give to my mom for Easter. This sounded really good in theory. We, however, had way too much confidence in our kids and their ability to sit still. Professional photographers are not paid enough for what they do. We went and had the pictures taken on the grounds behind the new President Hinckley bldg on BYU campus. This bldg is gorgeous if you ever have time go and walk through it. What a great tribute to President Hinckley. We walked in and Jackson saw a picture of Pres. Hinckley and he said "Look, it's Heavenly Father!" Everyone in the bldg kind of chuckled, but I felt like a failure of a mother. We have been trying to teach Jackson about prophets and Heavenly Father and some where in his little brain it got a little mixed up. I remember when I was little thinking that Heavenly Father looked like President Kimball. So maybe its a genetic thing. Anyways, the pictures will have to do for my mom. She doesn't care I know, we just thought it would be easier than it was. By the time we left Lucy ( my niece) had pushed Jackson started to cry like he was being tortured (this usually happens when he hasn't gotten his nap) Miley was crying because she was hungry, and my other niece Claire was I believe rolling around in the dirt. Oh good times. At least there is a good story with the pictures.
This is Jackson's new look, he is obsessed with his helmet, and his
sunglasses. He just rides around the house all day looking like this.
He gets his fashion sense from Ryan obviously.

Fishing Trip

One of the greatest things about being a mother is able to watch your kids have firsts. First time they walk, first tooth, and so on. Jackson experienced his first fishing trip this weekend. Even though I am not fond of fish, or fishing I supported the endeavor. Jackson and Ryan went to the Provo River which is right behind our house. It was a nice day and they had a great time. Ryan isn't much of an outdoorsmen, so they were sitting on the bank and casting the line, and it would just sit on the top of the water. Ryan forgot to get a sinker, he blames this on the guy at Wal-Mart who didn't tell him that he needed a sinker. Yes, this coming from my husband who once was the scout leader for the Lakeview 8th ward. Not to mention an eagle scout. Jackson thought it was pretty great, and can't wait to go again. It will be fun when Miley is older and we can go and do mom and daughter things. She is so cute and so much fun.

Potty Training!!

If I can conquer this potty training thing, I can do anything. We (when I say we I mean me) put Jackson on the toilet every 20 minutes or so, and he sits there like he is being punished. He isn't the one being punished here. Hopefully we will see some success soon. Luckily it has been reasonably good weather this week. We were able to go out in our backyard and play for a little bit, of course we had to bundle Miley up, but she seemed to really like it. She certainly is a high maintenance baby so when she is not crying or fussing we are very happy. She is so cute when she smiles her whole chubby face lights up. She definitely loves Grandmas house every time we go to my moms she is so good. She slept for about 4 hours straight the other day. It was great, even though I kept having to check on her to make sure she was breathing. Ohhh . . . the life of a mother.
